Republic day was celebrated on 26 th February 2024 at YMCA Trivandrum. YMCA President Prof. Alex Thomas hoisted the National flag and delivered the Republic day message. YMCA Vice President Mr. Bency V Thomas, Board members Adv. Idicula Zachariah, Mr.John G Kottara, Mr. Jothi Sathianess, Mr. Jacob George, YMCA senior members Dr. Arthur Jacob and Mr. Sreekumaran Thampi also attended the function.

Academic programs committee and General programs committee of YMCA Trivandrum jointly conducted Joseph K Kurian memorial Elocution competition in Malayalam for college students on 26 th January 2024. Total 14 students participated in the competition from different colleges. Soju C Jose (University College) got the first prize, Shivarenjini G B (Govt. Law College) got second prize and G.Uthara (Mar Ivanios College) got the third prize. Former Vice chancellor of Central university of Kerala Dr. Jancy James distributed trophy and cash award to the winners.
Spiritual committee of YMCA Trivandrum conducted circle prayer at the residence of Mr. Raju M Kollavelil on 30 th January 2024. Fr. Alexander, St. Mary’s Orthodox Church, Nalanchira was the speaker.
Charity & Welfare committee of the YMCA Trivandrum arranged the dedication service of Charity box on 5 January 2024. Fr. Darwin Peter (Vicar, St. Thomas church, Poonthura) led the dedication service.
Hi-Y ,Uni-Y & Youth empowerment committee of the YMCA Trivandrum and Light House (CET 1987-91 Alumni association) jointly organized an interactive session name “Good Parenting” for the parents of school students was conducted at St. John’s HSS, Nalanchira on 11 January 2024. Dr. Mathew Varghese (Meta skill neuro psychologist, Success coach, Motivation trainer, and counselor) was the faculty.
